Stunning Vintage Victorian Revival Two-Tier Plant Stand
This gorgeous iron figural plant stand features highly detailed casting in the desirable 19th-century Neo-Classical style, characteristic of mid-20th-century American patio furniture manufacturers. It is a perfect statement piece for a sunroom, formal garden, patio, or as a unique side table in a classically decorated interior.
The design features striking Neoclassical elements:
•Figural Detail: The legs are capped with beautifully cast Cherubs (Putti), a classic Renaissance motif.
•Table Surface: Both circular tiers feature a highly detailed Grape and Vine openwork design, perfect for allowing water drainage if used as a planter.
•Finish: The original distressed finish presents a lovely verdigris/patina look, offering authentic vintage charm.
Provenance & Era:
Based on construction methods, including the bolts/washers assembly and the use of phillips head screws (commercialized in the 1930s), this stand is reliably dated to the mid-20th century—likely 1940s to 1960s. It embodies the sought-after look of earlier 1900s foundries like Woodard or Salterini.
