Step back into the elegance of the 1850s with this stunning antique mirror. Bonus! This myria was originally, I believe black with a gilded inside step up black cove, and then gilded on the apex of the molding. At some point, it appears to have been painted over, but with that said, it appears that that has been done a very long time ago as well. I believe at the time that it it likely was painted over the back rough cut wood slats were covered seemingly ways. Newspaper. - The mirror and frame are solid and in great condition for the age. The glass is in great shape. The … moreThe mirror and frame are solid and in great condition for the age. The glass is in great shape. The mirrored material has crack lines fog patina and very sparkly, this is consistent with age. And as a matter of fact, it's very light patina for the age being that we are in colorado at altitude. For the frame. There is paint that appears to have been added after, the original paint appears to be a gold and black golden black being on the step up nearest the mirror the cove being black and gilded on the apex of the profile. This has been covered with the paint. At some point in history, apparently, quite some time ago as it is crackled, and that does not appear to be a product that was intended to do that. less
