circa 1970s oyster plate a product of Faïencerie de Gien, renowned French pottery manufacturer established in 1821 in the town of Gien in the Loire Valley. First established by Thomas Hall who brought over the Staffordshire style manufacturing methods from England.
These plates are made from faïence, a type of tin-glazed earthenware unique to the town of Gien.
care: hand wash only with soft sponge.
purchased originally from a little old lady at a brocante in Paris summer 2025. Excellent condition.
