This certified … Read more A vibrant mid-century French wool tapestry titled “Barques à Avignon” (Boats at Avignon) by Robert Debiève (French, 1926–1994). This certified limited edition was woven in France by Atelier Jean Laurent, Le Pin au Haras, using the Jacquard point princesse technique and pure new wool (laine vierge). Number 49 / 500, with the original Certificat d’Authenticité and wool purity labels stitched to the reverse.


Debiève’s textile work merges Cubist geometry with lyrical abstraction. In this piece, warm ochres, amber golds, deep greens, and lilac tones radiate from a brilliant sun-form, suggesting sails and reflections on the Rhône.
