Pair of neoclassical gilt-bronze (ormolu) bouillotte-style lamps, likely French or French-inspired, dating from the mid-20th century — circa 1950–1970.
️ Description
• Form: The bases are fluted and decorated in the Louis XVI style with acanthus leaf and laurel detailing.
• Finish: Bright gold ormolu (gilt bronze or brass).
• Column: White “candlestick” form stems evoke early French bouillotte lamps that originally held candles.
• Shades: Tapered trapezoid red paper shades trimmed with gold, replacing the traditional metal tole shades of earlier versions.
• Finial: Classical pineapple or flame motif, typical of French decorative arts.
