He was born … Read more This poster, “Starstruck“, was produced by the celebrated Russian artist, Romain DeTirtoff, or famously known as, Erte’. He was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, his legendary career spanned nearly the entire length of his life— 97 years!
Starting in 1915 he designed more than 240 covers for Harper‘s Bizarre and by the 1920s, his works were widely recognizable. While his prominent works are in museums, his designs, inspired theater, films, fashion, and art. Erte’ also designed costumes and stage sets—with a flair for the exotic and romantic!
On the bottom of the poster, it states:
