This extraordinary devotional artwork is a representation of Mother Mary tenderly holding the Lamb of God. Painted in rich, vivid colors, the central image shows Mary in pastoral attire, surrounded by an ornate garland of roses and wildflowers against a luminous blue sky. I purchased this piece at Scott Antique Market in Atlanta last month to bring onto Chairish. When I saw the quality and detail of this antique piece I knew it was something special. The dealer I purchased this from said it was most likely done in South America around the 1880s.
