Inspired by the Tang Dynasty’s (618–907 CE) celebrated horses, this piece captures strength and elegance in equal measure — from its poised stance to its finely detailed saddle. This is not a small sized artwork. Dimensions: 12ʺ W × 3ʺ D × 10.75ʺ H (30.5 cm × 7.6 cm × 27.3 cm) Excellent size.

Hand-carved in the mid-20th century, the sculpture reflects China’s jade revival period, when traditional artisans reimagined ancient dynastic forms for discerning collectors. The natural polish and subtle translucency highlight the authenticity and rare quality of true Hunan nephrite.

Material: Nephrite Jade (Hunan Province) Education: Nephrite is one of the two true forms of jade, revered in Chinese culture for over 5,000 years. Known as the “Stone of Heaven,” nephrite was the only jade used in China prior to the 18th century, long before jadeite became known through Burmese trade routes. Its silky luster, toughness, and smooth polish distinguish it from softer decorative stones.
