Crafted in France circa 2010, each terracotta “Tortue” features a stylized, hand-carved shell and finely incised scale details along the legs and head. The figures rest solidly on their flat bases, exuding a strong sense of balance and serenity. Their dark brown glaze with hand-rubbed highlights and worn edges reveals a beautiful aged patina, giving the pair an antique, timeworn appeal. Each sculpture displays slight variations that reflect the artisan’s hand, enhancing their sculptural charm.
