Decorate a patio, garden, or interior space with this whimsical pair of large turtle sculptures. Crafted in France circa 2010, each terracotta “Tortue” features a stylized, hand-carved shell and finely incised scale details along the legs and head. The figures rest solidly on their flat bases, exuding a strong sense of balance and serenity. Their dark brown glaze with hand-rubbed highlights and worn edges reveals a beautiful aged patina, giving the pair an antique, timeworn appeal. Each sculpture displays slight variations that reflect the artisan’s hand, enhancing their sculptural charm. Symbolizing longevity and stability, these turtles would lend natural character to a veranda, sunroom, or garden landscape. Both are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and feature a richly textured, rustic finish.
