Created in France circa 1875, this oil on canvas painting depicts a humble arrangement of mouth-watering grapes and figs, displayed in a plate, a wicker basket and simply on green leaves. Absorbing the light coming from the left, the fruits stand out on the brown tones of the tabletop. Dated 1875 and signed (unreadable) lower left, this still-life painting is set inside a gilt frame, carved with acanthus leaves and petite beads.
