Arabia Finland Pro Arte Kayak Bowl Designed By Markku Salo
Highly sought after design that are no longer in production. The glaze is high shine but this still has a very handcrafted non commercial look.
How Lovely this Kayak bowl would look with granny smith apples or a whole salmon . At close to 24" long the Kayak bowl can accommodate a lot and present itself beautifully.
In what I am finding that Salo did not do any other porcelain for Arabia other than the Kayak bowls.
Some Background information
Markku Salo (1954) A Finnish designer working with many mediums. A very talented and diverse designer. Experimental glass/ceramics artist for Nuutajarvi & iittala. He also graphics, and installations to name a few. Salo was given the Georg Jensen award in 1990 and the State Industrial Arts Award in 1989 .
Dimensions: (23.25"L x 9"W x 1 3/8" )
Condition: Is excellent. I looked very carefully and could not find any flaws, chips, crazing etc. The Kayak bowl will be professionally packed and shipped by UPS for a safe arrival.
