Original Japanese woodblock print by Tsukioka Kōgyo (1869–1927), from his celebrated Nōgaku Zue (“Pictures of Noh”) series, circa 1898.
Depicts an elegant Noh performer in layered robes, executed in delicate Meiji-period color printing.
Signed “Kōgyo” with artist’s red seal and publisher’s mark of Matsuki Heikichi.
Framed and matted professionally; total frame size 17" × 22".
Excellent color and impression with only light toning.
Kōgyo’s Nōgaku Zue series is among the most important Meiji-era records of traditional Noh theater.
