An original oil painting on canvas by Shigeru Wakayama, Japanese/French artist born 1954, "Paris and the Seine" scene of Paris … Read more An original oil painting on canvas by Shigeru Wakayama, Japanese/French artist born 1954, "Paris and the Seine" scene of Paris buildings with the River Seine in the foreground, a man and woman on the river bank, a person with dog sitting on a bench to the right, trees in leaf along the bank, on the far bank is a cluster of buildings in a clear, sunny day, 18 1/4" x 21 3/4" signed Shigeru W. in the lower right corner front. This work probably was painted in the late 1980's or early 1990's. CA number 3980, CA purchased from a Scottish auction house summer of 2025.
The work is in the original frame made by Delf Frames of Paris, France. It is 4" wide antiqued gold reverse with natural linen and antiqued gold liner.
The painting has been cleaned and varnished in order to protect the paint film.
He was born in Kumato, Japan in 1954 and was Japanese educated. In 1978 he moved to Paris where he participated in numerous exhibits and one man shows. He has received many awards and his works are collected by individuals and museums world wide. See less
