Early 20th Century N. Indian Agra Carpet ( 14' X 14' - 427 x 427 )
Every Persian design was interpreted in Agra and this c. 1900 carpet draws on the best sources: cloud bands, curved leaves, turtle palmette border. The mahogany brown field is found on Indian rugs, not Persian, and the square size is highly desirable. The Weave is moderately fine and the pattern is extremely well-balanced.
