This sophisticated lithograph was executed by the renowned visual artist Peter Eugene Ball circa 1970. Realized in black and white, it depicts a stylized classical griffon character replete with talons and wings. The rendering is loose and expressionistic, full of verve. While firmly anchored in figuration, it appears only steps away from abstraction. With its grisaille palate and idiosyncratic style, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate prints as well as those with a penchant for compelling objects.
