FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL US! This is a set of LARGE nautical 'onion' lantern style table lamps. Dark brown metal with glass globes. Each lamp measures 20" to the top of the base and 32" to the top of the finial. 11" wide. 3-way switches. There are some light spots of oxidation to the bottom portion of the lamps which, due to the lamps' dark coloring, are not as apparent as they look in the last photo. Please note that the last photo shows the worst of the oxidation. One plug has been replaced. Similar color, different shape. These lamps are otherwise in very good condition and in fine working order.
ABOUT ONION LANTERNS:
Onion lanterns originated in the early 19th century as maritime and railroad lights, with the hand-blown, onion-shaped glass globe designed to protect the flame from wind and rain. These durable, handcrafted lanterns, initially made with whale oil, were commonly used on New England's coast. Over time, they became popular for homes, evolving into modern electric versions made from copper, brass, or pewter.
