Artist Biography
Roy Schallenberg South African Artist: b. 1945-2010. Roy Schallenberg was born in South Africa and raised in Zambia, Central Africa. His painting career started in 1972. Roy Schallenberg has collectors and has exhibited in many parts of the world, including Australia, Canada, Israel, Germany, England, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Venezuela, and throughout the United States. He immigrated to the United States in 1976 and made the United States his home until his death in March 2010. Schallenberg found great excitement in discovering and working with different dynamics and synergies of paint, creating flows and movements unique to his vibrant style. The abstract and expressionist paintings are pure energy and are intuitive in nature, reflecting the mood and understanding of the viewer. With airbrush, palette knife, and brush, the artist weaved color, texture, and aura into a fantasy of brilliance and spontaneity. Always innovative on his artistic journey, Schallenberg had also created a dynamic sculpture collection, using the same strengths and flow found in his paintings.
