Chinese DeHua porcelain seated Kuan Yin on a tree root throne, seated on a stylized tree root throne with three … Read more Chinese DeHua porcelain seated Kuan Yin on a tree root throne, seated on a stylized tree root throne with three Mahayana sutras by her side (Lotus Sutra, Heart Sutra and Karandavyuha Sutra), clothed in flowing robes, tiara and necklace, holding the vessel of the water of life, one of the Eight Precious Buddhist Symbols, in her left hand, displaying the Bhumiparsha mudra (earth witness mudra) with her right hand. Exquisite fine realistic detail through out, down to Kuan Yin's fingernails. Chao Zong and DeHua marks on the back. Circa late 19th century, no later than early 20th.
