It features a herringbone lid for … Read more By far, this is the most robust and highly engineered basket among my collection. It features a herringbone lid for strength with a rattan frame. The body of this basket has both horizontal and vertical cane reinforcement woven into the design. Irrespective of all this designed strength, the mouth of the basket has a distinctive slope that is likely the result of something very very heavy being placed on one side of the top of the body well before I owned it. It measures: 21" High at top of handle/strap, 16 1/2" High at top of lid, 14 1/2" Diameter at shoulder of basket, 5 1/4" Diameter opening at mouth of basket and an 8 1/2" by 8 1/2" square base. In other words, it's a mystery and an interesting basket all rolled into one distinctive piece. less
