Pair antique DD & Co. creamware plates circa 1800. DD & Co. refers to David Dunderdale & Co., a Castleford, Yorkshire pottery manufacturer operating from approximately 1790 to 1820. The pottery is known for its creamware and other fine earthenware, and pieces bearing the impressed mark "D.D. & Co. Castleford" are prized by collectors.
Decorated at the rim with a garland of leaves and berries. Impressed mark on the back. Measure 8 1/2" diameter. Good condition - light crazing and one plate with small imperfection at the rim - see photo. Does not detract. Present well and fully functional.
