The beautiful visage has been mounted to an iron stand more recently, allowing the sculpture to be displayed on a mantel, bookshelf, or table. Our subject is depicted with a wimple, which was a medieval head covering for married women. A few locks of wavy hair can be seen flanking her expressive face. Deep wood grains form a wave-like pattern on her face and the crown of her head, enhancing the rich patina of the oak. The iron stand has a rectangular base, with an oxidized appearance that enhances the charm of the bust. See less
