Direct from France, a very elegant, and quite petite, antique French carved console or side table!
Incredible detailed carving and captivating features that include ornate, relief carved lion masks on the canted corners and large carved foliate scrolls across the wide frieze.

Quite unique feature here, the table top (that features it’s own carved octagon panel) actually lifts open to reveal an interior compartment, probably originally designed for letter writing or for hand work supplies!

Dual ‘bulbous’ legs on each side, with ornately carved scalloped feet with turned trestle stretcher for stability and support. Also note the large drop finials below the carved lion masks, giving that slight Gothic touch!

Carved on all sides, perfect for placement anywhere in a room because there's not a "back side". Solid oak with a rich finish, hand carved and well built by craftsmen of the period, c1880.

Measurements: 27” ht. x 24.5” x 17.5”. Size of octagon top, 23” x 16”.
