Antique English Server Sideboard Barley Twist Carved Oak Renaissance Dumbwaiter.
Direct from England, a fabulous antique server or dumbwaiter, quite large and majestic, over 4 ft. tall and 4 ft. length, with endless possibilities and style. It’s original purpose most probably was a dumbwaiter/server for a luxury London hotel or restaurant!
HUGE BARLEY TWIST COLUMNS on all sides, between all levels, with oversized carved ball finials on each post and dimensional carved scrolling on all the blocks.
The large shelves have ornately carved beveled edges, and each has a wide carved apron below. The dimensional carving continues on each of the large block joints, with English turned feet for stability and support.
Superbly hand carved and built by craftsmen of the period, circa1880.
Measurements: 52.5” ht. x 48.5” x 19.5”. Large shelves, 47.5” x 18”.
