This French 'bergère à oreilles' features a straight back, adorned on the upper rail with a carved crest. The sides, designed to provide both privacy and protection from drafts, flow delicately into the arm supports, decorated on the knuckles with acanthus leaves. The upholstered seat comprises a comfortable single cushion while the skirt is beautifully scalloped on all sides and decorated with a central stylized shell motif. The ensemble is raised on four short cabriole legs with scrolled and hoofed feet. See less
