It was made using a … Read more This is a beautiful, square-shaped, ecru, ivory-colored vintage table cover. It has a floral motif. It was made using a filet or point d'esprit style mesh as a background for the floral pattern that was woven into the mesh, sort of like a textile canvas. The edge has a scalloped border. These were durable textiles made to sustain frequent use. Perfect piece for a small side table or coffee table, or at the center of a large square-shaped dining table or even on a wall framed as a beautiful piece of textile art. It is super soft, luxuriously silky, and has a beautiful sheen.

Excellent vintage condition, no stains or major flaws. One tiny age spot (1/2 cm long) on a corner. It does have some fringing on the outer trim. However, I did not cut off the loose threads to avoid making them even frier or cutting more than needed. I will leave that to your discretion. Honestly, it gives it character!

Presumed to be mercerized cotton with maybe a silk blend or just the quality of the cotton that gives it a silky feel and sheen.

Presumed to be late 19th to early 20th century.
