Owls were very popular in decor in the 1970s, and this framed needlepoint owl is no exception. With its subject and predominantly brown hues, this picture was right on trend in the 1970s. The style is more abstract than realistic.
The brown wood frame measures 8.75 inches x 8.75 inches, and it's .75 inch deep. This needlepoint owl was professionally framed at Four Seasons Frame Shoppe in Niles, Illinois back in the day. The vintage frame shows wear and has several dings in it, as seen in the closeup pictures of the frame.
The picture would be cute for a child's room, perhaps a Harry Potter fan.
