But, in 1970, these lively ethnic window displays were a common sight.

Artist Bob Pollan, recognized the beauty and authenticity of this window display with its hanging Ducks, Loaves of Meat and Huge Netted Cheeses.

The results are a beautiful work of art and a historical celebration of a lost part of NYC. City

Emilio's Butcher Shop was a business shop owned by Emilio Brunetti in Little Italy, New York His shop was located on the corner of Mott and Hester Street.

It was also a favorite Mafia family location for racketeering, extortion and gambling. The shops history, in the 1930s-1950s, is a page right out of the Godfather movie..
