The scroll is signed in Chinese xingshu script with one red seal mark at the lower left. There is an inscription in xingshu script with one red, seal mark at the upper right of the image. The scroll has a dark bronze, silk cord makio and kakeo at the top and maroon jikusaki at the bottom. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.

The image size is 26.75" wide x 42.625" high.

A finely drawn and detailed depiction of Kuan Yin, seated in the posture of royal ease (lalitasana) on a mountain riverbank outcrop, clothed in long flowing robes and wearing the Crown Of Amitabha, with a halo, amid clouds and mists (xiangyun) and her flask of the Nectar of Life with the Willow Branch behind her. She is contemplating a large, blooming, lotus flower rising from the shoreline before her. See less
