It features … Read more This is a rare Kert Verson atomic or art deco style 1940's-1950's enemaled industrial industrial or medical lamp. It features a rounded top shade that offers rotational adjustment from right to left, and a metal bulb cover underneath that adjusts to let just the right amount escape from the light bulb. It also features a low light bulb at the midway section, underneath the cone-shaped switch box. Two switches are on the cone shaped "box," where one turns the top light on and off and the other switch turns the smaller light under the cone on and off.

The top light uses a regular light bulb and the midway light uses a smaller E12 (chandelier base) size bulb. The smaller bulb can function as a lower light reading bulb, or as a night light or accent light. The top light would work great for a reading light or all purpose light, and as already mentioned, can be adjusted to allow just the right amount of light to escape. The top of the shade offers the tell-tale Kert Verson honeycomb vent to release heat through the top.

The metal Kert Verson control cone also offers a standard 110V double prong plug-in so that you can plug in other things (e.g., a cell phone charger, laptop computer charger, etc.

The lamp stands about 53 or so inches tall, and the base measures about a foot in diameter. The top shade (measurement not shown in a photo) measures 14" in diameter. The electric cord is in excellent condition and measures about 6 1/2 feet long. Both of the lights and the plug in the cone shaped control box work just as they should, and the top shade and bulb cover underneath rotate and work just as they should.

There are some scratches and patina here and there, but mostly on the the base. The enamel elsewhere on the body is in wonderful condition, especially for its age. There is a bubbled spot where the enamel under the top shade has started to come off on a little section, but it is in the least noticeable spot (behind the bulb cover adjustment). You could easily touch up the base and this one spot with a tiny amount of matching paint, or simply allow it to show its age patina in all its glory -- it is truly a relatively very small amount of patina, given its age.

Note the twist ring just above the control cone. It is here that the lamp will separate, allowing it to be shipped with the top facing downward but still attached to the electric cord. It will be packaged in such a way to save on shipping and ensure your product arrives without damage. See less
