Created in China during the Qing dynasty, this large armoire draws our attention with its four doors adorned with 16 gilded panels depicting still-life scenes on a red painted background. Each panel, unique unto itself, showcases a different scene, including one with two people being pulled in a rickshaw under a sea of flags, another with women having a discussion around a table and numerous others with floral scenes, some with vases. Below the doors sit three additional panels featuring fish motifs. The doors open to reveal three shelves and four drawers for storage.
