Highly ornate antique bronze Buddhist lion sculpture from Nepal. Lost wax bronze lions cast in two sections, forelegs, and rear joined at the waist by a band. Traces of 'gilt/gold' can be seen deep in the crevices of the lion.
Beautifully modelled with great attention to the decorative details in the curls of the main, the scrolling of the tail, the winged legs.
Standing firmly on all four feet with open fanged mouth he is here to protect your home and family. A magnificent beast!
