Vintage Heavy frames picture of phasianus versicolor. The frame measures 26 1/2” x 31” . The frame is 3 inches wide and the matting is 4 1/2 inches .Matted in green and white . Ornithologist hand painted Watercolors of a Japanese bird called Phasianus Veriscolor. The green pheasant, also known as Japanese green pheasant, is an omnivorous bird native to the Japanese archipelago, to which it is endemic. Some taxonomic authorities still consider it a subspecies of the common pheasant, Phasianus colchicus.
It is the national bird of Japan.
