Beautifully made and colored Eglomise urn-shaped lamp from Italy, vintage late 40s' early 50s'. Fine neo-classic engraving of the gods and mythic animals on gold foil backgrounds with mauve textured paints across the body. Italian popular Fornesetti taste. Designed with a classical border of gold foil at the top and at the bottom registers. The whole is built into a gilt wooden plinth with inset Eglomise panels on each side in the same color scheme.
The size is 22" to the top of the socket. 28" to the top of the harp. The base is 6.5" square.
