This oil on paper composition is by the well known California artist Michael Gregory (1955-). It is signed and dated on the lower edge of the painting as well as on the reverse. The painting is in very good condition. The mat is in fair condition with a few tiny marks.


Michael Gregory is an American artist best known for his photorealistic paintings of old barns, silos, and flowers. Gregory paints his works from memory and imagination while referencing real places and objects. The artist’s hallmark works are characterized by his use of rich colors set off by a largely muted palette. Born in 1955 in Los Angeles, CA, he received his BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1980. He currently lives and works in Bolinas, CA. Today, Gregory’s works are in the collections of the San Jose Museum of Art, the Denver Art Museum, and the Boise Museum of Art, among others. See less
