Antique stoneware poultry waterer / chicken drinking fountain, patented April 17, 1885.
Heavy cylindrical crock designed to rest on its side; birds drink from the glazed front trough while side lugs act as stabilizing “feet.” Classic sanitary farm design with salt-glazed exterior and deep brown Albany-slip glazed drinking face.
Markings: PAT’D APR 17 1885 and FOUNTAIN in relief
Dimensions: Approx. 9" × 9" × 10.75" overall

Condition: A little wear around the upper edge of the drinking area. No major chips, cracks, or breaks. Bottom shows natural clay lines from manufacture. White mineral residue present inside and around the drinking lip.
Note: Listing is for the stoneware fountain only (no metal tray/base).
Perfect for farmhouse décor, stoneware collections, or restoration of period poultry equipment.
