This exceptional vintage Ntomo Marka Mask, originating from the Bamana people of Mali, features a sophisticated blend of wood and aluminum construction and crowned with a standing figure. Measuring 29" in height, 13" in width, and 7" in depth, these ceremonial objects played significant roles in agricultural and fishing rituals. The distinctive aesthetic of Marka masks has influenced prominent Western artists, most notably Picasso, who incorporated their formal elements into his groundbreaking abstract compositions.
