1970s Couroc resin tray with mingling frogs, from Monterey, California. Charming, whimsical, and fun. The resin is extremely durable and resistant to fading, liquid, and heat.
Guthrie Courvoisier and his wife, Moira Wallace, established the Couroc Company in Monterrey, California in the late 1940s. Working with a group of artisans, the company produced inlaid domestic wares and household objects using a proprietary resin material. Items like these trays were original designs hand inlaid with stones, shells, coral, woods, metal, and sometimes found objects.
