Virgin and Child, Spanish-American Viceregal School, oil on canvas, 19th century Delicate depiction of the Virgin and Child, executed in oil on canvas towards the end of the 19th century, within the Spanish-American viceregal tradition. The work reflects the iconographic models of the Cuzco and Quito schools, with a radiant golden halo, idealized faces, and a flat color scheme that accentuates its devotional character. The Child holds a small bouquet of flowers, a symbol of purity, while the Virgin gently inclines her face in a gesture of tenderness. A painting of strong spiritual significance and excellent conservation, mounted on a reinforced stretcher and accompanied by a period gilt frame, which enhances its presence. 76x58 with frame 58,5x41 without This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
