The iconic design from the early 1980s combines a hand-blown and completely undamaged glass body made of original Murano opal glass, manufactured by Vetri, and a large, conical original shade, which exhibits characteristic age-related signs of wear, such as stains and a clearly visible abrasion. According to experts, the special shade material is no longer available. The Vetri opal glass sticker is clearly visible on the underside of the glass body and documents the origin and authenticity of the material. Both light sources, glass body and shade, can be controlled separately or together via the integrated switches, thus enabling various lighting scenarios. The original M Design manufacturer's label below the cable gland attests to the authenticity and provenance of this vintage design.

The condition, all signs of wear, and details are extensively documented photographically, although stains often appear more pronounced in photos than in person. The lamp is also featured in "Bernhard Dessecker Ingo Maurer Designing with Light," page 181, bottom right, making it a published example of international design history.
