The top is covered … Read more Antique French Napoleon III writing desk in fine exotic wood with finely chiseled gilded bronze appliqué. The top is covered in chiseled leather surrounded by a gilded bronze border. The front is punctuated by two drawers embellished with leaf-motif vents and handles in gilded bronze. The four corners are adorned with large half-length figures of women typical of the period. The sides are framed like the front with leaf-motif bronze profiles. The opposite side is mirrored to the main one. The interior is made of oak. Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using traditional handmade shellac and alcohol methods.
