Beautiful original Meiji-era woodblock print by Toyohara Kunichika, one of the leading kabuki portrait artists of the 19th century.
Published in 1885 by Kobayashi Tetsujirō, this dramatic scene shows two actors in elaborate floral-patterned robes against a vivid crimson backdrop.
Signed “Toyohara Kunichika hitsu” with publisher and censor seals intact.
Printed on handmade washi paper with outstanding color retention.
Mounted in a 15″ × 20″ mat, unframed.
Excellent condition with rich pigment and no visible tears or losses.
