In sterling silver with a gilt interior by George Unite & Sons of Chester in 1899.

Commissioned as a gift by Abbas Hilmi II, the last Khedive of Egypt and the Sudan who ruled Egypt (under de facto British rule) from 1892 - 1914.

Engraved with a dedication: "Presented to Louis Arthur-Mogg by the Khedive of Egypt Abbas Hilmi".

Fully hallmarked to the interior.

Simply a wonderful piece of history!

Overall Condition:
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.

Condition Details:
There is a slight smile to the lid (meaning it does not close entirely flush.) Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some dings and indentations here and there (particularly around the circumference), some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
