A VERY "RARE," and MONUMENTAL lLrge, Lalique, C.19120'-30's, quite heavy piece by Rene Lalique, ALL HAND-CARVED, is this Asian motif design, and the frosted, crystal finish a signature Lalique finish, upon, this seminal, pedestal, Centerpiece/Vessel and/or Urn or Planter., was produced in the art Deco era. This is and was made in 2 separate pieces, but fused together from the top center of base and the base bottom of the top portion. It also has elemental Chi Dragon, which double as and on apposing sides as handles, WHICH ONE SHOULD NOT PICK UP SOLELY FROM THOSE HANDLES, Perhaps ONE and THEN by ALSO FULLY PLACING ONE'S HANDS UNDERNEATH in CARRYING THE PIECE. The piece is a 2-pieces, fused vessel. We don't know how, BUT it it's so special and we have never come across a piece such as this before, in the consignment of many goods herein by this hand-bag designer, like other Lalique Pieces, Dum, Cartier, Nancy Corzine Pieces, Chihuly, Tiffany's, etc
Apparently this piece has been owned by this couple, one of which is well-known, hand bag designer, since the C .1990's, but from a very high end Auction House in NYC. As one can see there is ALSO an overall, raised relief design motif of perhaps a quasi, wood grain or end grain grill pattern, and Asian era design detail, which was utilized for the upper round bowl pattern as well as the square based pedestal platform which offsets the piece in a superb presence. The last Image showcase it well amongst other distinctive pieces from their collection. LAST IMAGE indicates whereupon it stood a s display but was utilized as a planter, and the Owner had a ceramic piece made to put the plant inside and display a such BUT to protect the Crytsal Lalique Piece, a Special reserve piece made and purchased from a very high end Auction House trove from a Collection. WE CHOSE to remove that made ceramic inset planter, for the photo shoot, as well as make it more architectural as a sculpture, yet ALSO ability to be utilized in ia variety of intended ways. Wedidn't have any time which to fully clean the piece as some dirt has gotten between crevices etc., but can easily be cleaned and with a dust can remove some of the dirt which came from the planter which was inserted on the top round portion., sorry their move came so quickly it was unavoidable to us or accessible in a timely manner to do a such.
(This is how, which the owner utilized as, as one can see from the images looks aged in areas, BUT it is dirt that has gone down the creases or crevices of the raised relief detail and areas, like the seems of corners, etc., we tried to clean some, and time sensitive t image taking and movers/art handlers and all, we could noted it as per ou usual and customary measures on goods. The last image indicates size, volume and in relation to the other Daum and Tiffany Pieces.
Wieght is about 38-50 lbs. Extra care and packing/handling required.
