This beautiful tray will be perfect for serving drinks at your next cocktail party. Created from papier-mâché (or paper mâché) the sides are scalloped, with rounded corners. The background has been japanned in heavy black paint. On top, a figurative still life Chinoiserie scene has been applied by hand in blue, green and gold. The painting depicts a man and woman in a garden. The woman wears a blue traditional dress, and the man sits in a gold chair, and wears a traditional green robe with gold accents. A tree of life is painted at the center between the couple and features a bountiful vase of flowers. The bottom of the tray is lacquered in a bold red.
