Victoria Taxco silver and copper shot cup. It is a vintage mixed-metal piece of Mexican folk art.
The cup has a cylindrical, slightly tapered body made of copper. A decorative sterling silver panel with a bull, or ox, figure is applied to the side. The bull has detailed etchings on its body, including what appear to be brands or decorative marks. There is a second band of applied silver decoration around the top of the cup, featuring stylized figures and geometric patterns. The rim of the cup is also sterling silver.
The item is from Taxco, Mexico, a city renowned for its silver craftsmanship. It was made in the mid-20th century, likely in the 1950s. The "Victoria" mark refers to the workshop of Ana Maria Nuñez de Brilanti, a notable Mexican artist and one of the original Taxco silver designers. The technique used, which combines different metals, is known as "marriage of metals."
