Curled volutes from the crown to the feet give this robust storage piece its poetic quality; calligraphic scrolls round out the crown over a pair of arched doors that mirror each other’s curvaceous paneling. The doors open by working lock and key to reveal two stationary shelves, approximately 12 ½” deep, with the left door hooking on to the shelf for added security. In the slightly deeper lower cabinet (also fitted with a working lock and key), the interior contains a single shelf, 16 ⅜” deep. Sinuous lines of the swelled apron transition into carved escargot feet, another graceful signature of the Louis XV taste. This buffet has been cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax to be ready for your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
