High-back wooden chairs with gently scrolled arms and a heart cutout at the crest — a hallmark of traditional Pennsylvania Dutch and Appalachian revival craftsmanship. The dimensions of these chairs are 25½" high × 12½" wide × 10" deep — slightly larger than typical doll furniture, suggesting they could have been made as display or child’s “nursery chairs”, or intended for decorative use with dolls or teddy bears. These chairs would also make great shelves. Jack Scheffler was a regional craftsman active in the Poconos / Stroudsburg area, known for handmade reproduction and rustic-style furniture in the mid-20th century. See less
