Le Faguays was a French sculptor and Art Deco artist that studied at the Beaux Arts Academy in Geneva Switzerland now known as the Geneva University of Art & Design in Paris. He was lifelong friends with Max LeVerrier who also attended the Beaux Arts and later own a foundry that produced many of Le Faguays’ works.

Le Faguays’ sculptures were widely exhibited during his lifetime and are held in collections around the world. He is known for depicting the female form in graceful poses exemplifying both beauty and elegance. He used his name and two pseudonyms, Fayral and Guerrero. This sculpture is called “Girl With Dove” estimated from the 1930s. It features a girl outstretched on tip-toes with a long extended arm to capture a Dove in her hand. The piece is stamped with both the foundry and artist in the bronze base which sits on a marble slab as the Susse Foundry was noted for.
