Produced as a one-of-a-kind, each is inspired by a passing fancy, friend, or travel to some destination the old artist remembered from long ago. No two are exactly alike and the attention to detail is pain-staking and exquisitely maneuvered in a dance of colors around the body of the vessel. The labor-intensive process requires each product to be molded by hand and then fired in a kiln.

A Herculean test of patience comes while hand-painting each color, each stroke, over the course of several weeks allowing it to dry before the next one is executed. Rush the process and the piece will be flawed. When finished, the artisan applies a glaze and fires it once again to seal in the work. Sometimes a patina is added to give it the aged appearance producing such quality crafted pieces they are often mistaken for Vintages in shops throughout Europe.

As the talented artisans of Italy grow older and pass away, the younger generation is not learning the old crafts of fine Italian ceramics. This hand-made piece will grow in value as it is passed down through your children for many generations to come.
