A sculptural masterpiece of Italian design, this Cartoccio vase by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte exemplifies the fusion of art and craftsmanship that defined Italy’s design renaissance. About the Designer:
Pietro Chiesa (1892–1948) was one of Italy’s foremost glass artists and designers. After training as a glassmaker in Milan, he collaborated with Gio Ponti in 1932 to found Fontana Arte, a company that would become synonymous with refined, modern Italian glass and lighting design. Chiesa’s work seamlessly blended traditional craftsmanship with avant-garde forms, creating timeless objects that continue to inspire collectors and designers today.
